ShipWeight Users Group Meeting (June 24, 25)

BAS engineering, developers of ShipWeight, will hold a 2-day meeting for new and experienced users. ShipWeight, an advanced software package for estimating, tracking and reporting mass properties of marine vehicles, from commercial ships to offshore drill platforms to the most sophisticated military combatant ships, is in worldwide use by shipyards, designers, and Government personnel. The meeting will address:

· Demonstration of new features available in Version 8.0

· Guidance on commonly used and frequently overlooked functions

· Information on compatibility with other marine industry software applications

· Future development plans

· Discussion of user issues questions

SAWE Marine Systems Government/Industry Workshop on Review of SAWE Recommended Practices (June 26)

This 1-day workshop will provide the opportunity for detailed discussions of SAWE Government/Industry requirements that are commonly invoked in ship design contracts as well as serve as marine industry standard practices. Addressed will be proposed changes to:

· SAWE RP12 – Weight Control Technical Requirements for Surface Ships

· SAWE RP13 – Standard Coordinate System for Reporting Mass Properties of Surface Ships and Submarines

· SAWE RP14 – Weight Estimating and Margin Manual for Marine Vehicles
